Don’t you ever wonder what dogs would say if we could understand them? Well, if dogs could talk, they would surely ask their families for immense love and daily cuddles. A loving embrace from their owners is where dogs find so much happiness.
It breaks our hearts to know that so many dogs are mistreated and denied the love and joy they deserve. This story is about Gordough, a wonderful dog who experienced hurt after being abandoned and tied to a park bench by his owners.
Gordough held out hope that his owners would return for him. He waited with a sad expression, but they never came back. Although he was heartbroken, Gordough did not lose faith that someone would notice him and take him to a safe place.
A Dog in Need of Help
Rescuers from the Austin Humane Society in Texas were shocked when they found a giant Pit Bull mix tied to a bench with a pleading look on his face. When they went up to him, they soon realized he was sick.
“He was … crusty from head to toe. He had infections of the skin and eyes and desperately needed medicated baths, eye drops, and ointment to treat them,” wrote the 15/10 Foundation on Facebook.
Gordough’s tail still began wagging the moment he saw the rescuers approaching.
They stroked his head and Gordough instantly felt that these were the heroes he had been waiting for! His eyes melted with gratitude as they untied his leash from the bench.
A Lot of Love and Care
The rescuers immediately took Gordough to the shelter. His caregivers gave him a bath and treated his skin with ointments. Gordough was extremely patient during the process.
They showed him love and gave him many cuddles. The gentle giant deeply appreciated their affection. Gordough’s face started to beam with happiness as he was finally able to rest.
Gordough’s Perfect Forever Home
Soon enough, Gordough found a loving foster home where he continued his recovery. Although his foster family planned to take care of him temporarily, they quickly realized that Gordough belonged with them forever.
This adorable dog captured their hearts, and they adopted him!
Bottom Line
Overall, Gordough now loves snuggling with his forever parents. He also enjoys playing with toys and taking naps. So, this doggo made a complete recovery. Additionally, he cannot stop smiling because he is living his best life.
We are so happy that Gordough left his sad past behind and found the happiness he has always dreamed of!
